Irony of ironies - When a man drowned at a party attended by 100 lifeguards

As if this wasn't ironic enough, they were celebrating their first drowning-free swimming season at a city pool.

In 1985, New Orleans, 200 people attended the annual lifeguard party at a Recreation Department pool. They were celebrating the first-ever season that ended without a single drowning.

At the end of the party, when they  began clearing the pool, they found a man at the bottom of the pool.

The drowned man was a 31 year old man named Jerome Moody. He was a not a lifeguard but a guest however, there were four other guards on duty.
