On June 25, 1983, Indian cricket team lifted their first ever world cup. India defeated West Indies in the finals by 43 runs at Lord's cricket ground.
The world cup winning team was led by the all-rounder Kapil Dev. Mohinder Amarnath was declared the Man of the Match for scoring 26 runs and taking three wickets.
It is now 38 years to India's vicotory in the tournament and Kapil Dev lifting the trophy at the Lord's remains an iconic image for all the Indian cricket fans.
